New website and FREE advertising with Full Page Views!

I've been very busy! Currently doing a redesign of my FREE Webmaster Resources site which has become very popular! It's still a work in progress, but it has been attracting tons of attention..I guess the free traffic sources I'm using are working!

I also ran across a site that is not only fun to play PickANumber&Win (kind of like a lottery)

For advertisers, they are also offering an April special deal for 1000 free page displays...It worked so well, that I bought some additional, inexpensive advertising. When someone saves your site to their favorites, you get notified with their email address and I'm actually getting some great leads for some of my sites like: My cell phone sales and service website http://www.cheapestsmartphones.com/ , as well as some of my other agency sites for Dish Network, VISEC Security Software (great video surveillance software and products), VoIP and Packet 8 Internet telephone sysytems.

100 FREE visitors and I'm tired because I was up all night..

Here's another freebie for you! Get 100 FREE visitors in 7 Days! It may not be a lot, but it's free and every little bit helps!
I don't have much to say today because I've been up all night redesigning a site using a free template from Freewebsitetemplates.com and the CoffeCup HTML Editor (Download Free Web Design Software Here).
I prefer using their Visual Site Designer, but I just wanted to try my hand at modifying a template with the HTML editor. I think it came out ok, but I still have to figure out what's going on with the logo and site name..too tired to figure it out now.

I'm now searching for some good classified ad and forum scripts for my next projects. I'm working on a couple of directories and a forum site. I've already started on my first directory but am still working on the a's. It's looking good, but I still have a long way to go!

Getting Links and Traffic

How to get links and traffic to your site on a budget...Well, for me, it has been the "old-fashioned" way for the most part. I submitted to search engines and directories (I do have a scrubtheweb.com account which helps speed that up a bit). No directory is too small for me. If I come across it in my searches I go ahead and suggest my link! I was very happy when my very first site (not counting my practice sites) BangkokDentistry.com was listed on DMOZ on my first submission! From what I have gathered from online articles and mentions, this is a fairly difficult, yet important directory to get on. I did notice a significant increase in traffic just after I was listed.
I constantly surf the net for one thing or another, whether it's trying to find information for one of my many projects, inspiration for something new, or just looking for "the name of that guy..you know the one that was in that movie with that actress.." So, if I am in a forum or reading a blog and the topic is relevant to one of my websites, i will post a comment or answer a question along with my link. Many forums ask for your url and link it to your name, so I try to use a good keyword phrase or maybe just my website name for my "name." I don't just post for the sake of posting, I try to have something both relevant to the site I'm on and the url I submit.
For eample, Fodors is a popular travel forum and after posting a few answers to questions, I noticed quite a number of visits from their site. I haven't been on there lately, but last time I checked, my site still get a visit or two on a regular basis if not daily. Note to self: visit Fodors again and see if I can be of assistance to anyone in the forum.
Link Exchange: I try not to do too much of this and if I do, I try to keep it very relative to my sites. I know there are a few links on some of my first sites that I should get rid of when I get a chance.
One-Way (non-reciprocal) links: I like LinkReferral , but not so much for the quality of the traffic as the reviews. The traffic is mostly good for numbers as people review or visit your site. I'm at about 300-500 visits a month from unique visitors. If nothing else it is another one-way directory listing, unless you choose to link back to them. (good idea if you become a premium member for $50 and want others to sign up).
Another great way to generate tons of one-way links back to your site is using this mvlinks system. you add your link to the list of 9 other links and post it on your site. promote this to some other friendly webmasters and before you know it you have some quality one-way links back to your site and it grows exponetially. Of course you'll never get the perfect world multiplier of 15x15x15x15x15 etc. but it's still a whole lot! Of course one-way links are weighted more heavily that reeciprocal or paid links for the most part and that helps quite a bit when your page is ranked by search engines. If you promote it to webmasters in generally related content, the links will be even more valuable as the sites that link to you are relative to your site and your site is seen as more of an authoritative source and more important on the web.

I've just started with the FreeViral ( Send me One Million FREE Guaranteed Visitors) , I've heard it works very well..much like the mvlinks page above. I'm just trying it out on a few small, practice sites to see if it is effective.

Don't forget to set up pages in the social networking sites, Myspace, Facebook, etc. Here's a new one that will actually pay you a few bucks if you generate enough page views YUWIE.com
but I think you might have to put up some sexy pics to get enough page views! I'm not that sexy!

Web Hosting

I lucked out on this one. I have tried others since, but my first selection was IX Hosting and have nothing but good things to say about them. Three really good pricing plans with lots of features. You can start small and grow. Easy to use control panel. Live chat customer support with very patient people on the other end. Once when I thanked the guy for his patience with me, he replied "It's my job, I'm paid to help you." It's that simple! I wish all customer service people thought like that!
Down Time? What is that? I've seen zero! (Knock on wood)..
I've also listed my top 15 web hosting (either from experience or talking with other webmasters) and placed them on a site I have just started to re-develop using CoffeeCup software. You can find that list here at http://www.spamlister.com/WebHosting.html .
I had a lot of pages to redesign, so this is going slow..but I have the hosting list and also a list of Windows Registry Cleaners on the site. (I just used one oth the templates that comes with the CoffeeCup software and What I have online only took me a couple of hours..(I'll have to check the Visual Site Designer software because it actually shows you how many seconds you spend working on each page and the total for the whole site)

Web Design

When I first started, I tried a web design company in San Francisco who advertised on Craigslist. They were inexpensive ($75 +$10 per page). They Had a decent website with some nice designs. They gave discounts to non-profit organizations and had some guarantees for satisfaction. These guys seemed ok through some emails and I figured it was just a couple guys starting out and thought I'd give them a chance. 4 months later and no website yet it turned out to be a mistake. They were either swamped with other work or just had no vision or creativity. It got to the point that I was preparing detailed diagrams of what I wanted the site to look like. So much so that my diagrams were getting so good I thought that maybe I could design a website myself if I could figure out some web design software. I tried everything from free html programs I found online to Dreamweaver. I was going nuts trying to figure these out..either too simple to do what I wanted or too complex and just gave me a headache. Then I found CoffeeCup software (Download Free Web Design Software Here). Started out with a free html editor and liked it so much, I bought the whole software package at a fraction of the cost of the big, complex software titles! I had my first website online in a day! They have bundles of software at great prices and you get lifetime support and upgrades!
Their customer service was great and very patient and helpful even when the problems were my own stupidity! Get Some Cool Web Design Software. Click Here

First Post

Thanks for visiting! I will be posting my experiences n creating several websites. As someone fairly new to this business, I decided to start be learning how to do it all myself. From designing webpages, to producing content, to search engine optimization! Not only that, but do it all on a shoestring budget! So, here is where I will post the things that worked for me (and those that don't work). I hope this can help out a fellow "new webmaster" as well. I also welcome comments and tips from more experienced webmasters.
